Three years ago, Kirsty Gogan and Eric Ingersoll, managing partners of LucidCatalyst, founded the nonprofit Terra Praxis 
to realize their vision of universal access to affordable, reliable, and clean energy that empowers people and protects nature. Building on their successful, mission-focused business working on energy and climate change, they recognized the need for a bold public-benefit organization capable of addressing the widening gap between decarbonization policy targets and the real-world deployment of projects, urgently and at scale.

 

Powered by Philanthropy, Terra Praxis.org mission is to innovate and accelerate scalable, equitable solutions to decarbonize the largest sources of global emissions. Leveraging decades of experience and trusted relationships, Kirsty and Eric dedicate a considerable amount of their highly coveted commitment, time, and leadership to Terra Praxis and its mission. Terra Praxis leverages the insights from LucidCatalyst’s market analysis and technical expertise, and benefits from a talent pool of exceptional individuals, to trailblaze in the following areas:

• STAKEHOLDER-BASED SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT:  Terra Praxis applies a stakeholder-based design process with governments, regulators, academics, industry, and nonprofits to design solutions to meet the cost, speed, scale, and supply chain requirements of the global transition to clean energy.
   

• SOLUTIONS-BASED ADVOCACY:  Terra Praxis advocates for solutions that are transformative, pragmatic, and impactful.

The Terra Praxis REPOWER Consortium is executing an integrated strategy to deploy fast, low-cost, and repeatable solutions for repurposing existing coal plants and other energy intensive infrastructure  to continue operating with emissions-free power, heat, and steam supplied by mass-manufactured advanced nuclear. REPOWER leverages existing sites, transmission, industry knowledge, workforces, capital, and supply chains to supply clean, reliable, and affordable energy and produce emissions-free fuel. It has the potential to eliminate one-third of global carbon emissions while ensuring continuity for communities reliant on power plants for energy, jobs, tax revenue, and continued economic growth
